Environmental education for families, schools and interested individuals is a real focus for the Biosphere Park Grosses Walsertal. The popular “Wild Walser Ways” are Biosphere Park Adventure experience weeks for school groups. Within the summer programme there are Biosphere Park Adventure experience days for locals and visitors. In addition Experience Trails on the topics of “Forest”, “Avalanches” and “Flowers” invite visitors on educational walks and strolls.

B. Burmenta, a marmot character, has been in schools within the biosphere park since October 2006. The schools education file, “Biosphere Park – what’s that? B. Burmenta’s Journey of Discovery through the Biosphere Park Grosses Walsertal was put together by enthusiastic teachers in cooperation with the biosphere park management team and staff of inatura – Dornbirn Nature Experience Show.
