On 19th June 2007 the project "Biosphere Park Adventure" was recognised by the Austrian UNESCO Commission as one of the first 17 projects to be awarded the UN Decade Project award.

An extract from the jury’s decision: "The project makes it possible to experience sustainable regional development by means of a model region. The varied educational approaches are convincing and encourage visitors to embark on this adventure for themselves."
