One of the functions of biosphere parks is environmental education.

Visitors are offered “tailor made” excursion programmes, schools and families discover the Biosphere Park Grosses Walsertal at the Abenteuer Biosphärenpark [Biosphere Park Adventure].

Since autumn 2006 B. Burmenta, a cute marmot character, has been travelling around the schools of the Grosses Walsertal and in 2008 the comprehensive biosphere park summer programme took place for the 4th time.
The learning trails in the biosphere park are becoming more and more popular.
