Ziel des Landschaftsinventars war, die Landschaft im Großen Walsertal in ihrer Gesamtheit zu erfassen, also nicht nur die biotischen Inhalte der Region sondern auch deren abiotischen Naturgüter in eine integrative Betrachtung mit einzubeziehen: Vorteile, Nachteile und Potentiale werden  betrachtet und Schnittstellen zur Landnutzung aufgezeigt. – Das Inventar ist wesentliche Entscheidungsgrundlage für nachhaltige Nutzung der Landschaft im Biosphärenpark Großes Walsertal. Das Inventar enthält detaillierte Beschreibungen der Landschaftstypen, Darstellungen zur Verteilung der Natürlichkeitswerte sowie eine Betrachtung der naturschutzfachlichen Auswirkungen des angewandten Bewertungsverfahrens.

The goal of the landscape inventory was to capture the landscape of the Grosses Walsertal in its entirety, so to include not only the biotic content of the region but also its abiotic natural assets in an integrative treatment: advantages, disadvantages and potentials are considered and interfaces for land use highlighted. The inventory is an important basis for decision-making for sustainable use of the landscape in the Biosphere Park Grosses Walsertal. The inventory contains detailed descriptions of landscape types, representations of the distribution and quality of native elements and a consideration of the effects of the evaluation process applied from an ecological point of view.
