Project leader: Regional Planning Association Grosses Walsertal (6 communities)
Project period: August 2002 to June 2003 and March to October 2006
The number of visitors to the Grosses Walsertal interested in nature conservation and ecologically sound forms of business is growing. This is why the Grosses Walsertal in cooperation with the environment department of the Vorarlberg state government has recognised agricultural businesses offering model visits – open farms. This project was combined with a cross-business conservation plan by ÖPUL and with meadow visits to farming areas lead by experts. A brochure was also created which presents the businesses offering visits.
In order to provide the farmers offering these visits with the tools to lead tours in their businesses, they received training in the first half of 2006 on the subject “Creating exciting visits and tours”.
For 5 of the 8 partner businesses meadow walks were also worked out.
